Min Assault is currently FOTM cause it has the best bonus of all the Assaults to what most will agree is still the best weapon in the game. It has the best base speed with the fastest strafe speed making many people to believe it has a "broken hitbox" due to how fast it can strafe. It has great EHP for how fast it is with the most balanced dropsuit layout (4H / 4L) making it viable in almost any scenario.

I have a Gal Assault and it's a great suit if you have a team to back you up. It has a bit more frontline capability than the Min Assault IMO, but the Min Assault is still by far the best lone-wolf slayer-type Assault because of the shield tank. That's pretty much what it breaks down to. Shield suits are better lone-wolfing because their faster speed/faster regen, while armor suits are better in squad/team situations where you can have the team back you up with reps.

I can't say anything about the Commandos since I don't run them, but I can safely say that I've never met someone running a Commando suit that wasn't a joke to kill. MinMando is supposedly the better choice for AV cause of the 10% bonus damage to Swarms, though. MinMando could run Combat Rifle / Swarm Launcher while getting a 10% bonus to both of them, which could potentially be good. Only thing GalMando could run to benefit from his bonus is Assault Rifle / Plasma Cannon which is a joke if you actually want to do any AV.
